For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." (CCC 1285)

St. John XXIII welcomes youth and adults who have already been baptized to prepare for the third Sacrament of Initiation, the Sacrament of Confirmation. We offer Confirmation classes for both youth and adults.

OCIA

(Order of Christian Initiation for Adults)

OCIA (Formerly RCIA) is for youth(OCIC) and adults who have not yet been baptized and would like to be received into the Catholic Church. To those looking we say whole heartedly, "Welcome!" We are happy to begin your journey with an encounter with Christ through the eyes of the Catholic faith.

Please contact Marcus Tamayo to inquire about the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) program. OCIA prepares the participant to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation together.

Children age 7 and older who have not yet been baptized may go through a children's version of OCIA (Sometimes referred to as OCIC Order of Christian Initiation for Children although this is not an official name but refers to an OCIA programmed modified for children and youth). Families with children or youth who are likely candidates may contact Marcus Tamayo.
